Nuwan Bandara is a passionate technologist, excited about helping people and businesses realize value from technology. As a Senior Technical Leader at AWS, he works closely with cloud-native Financial Services customers across fintech and capital markets. He has been at AWS for over 5 years and is based in New York City.
Starting his career as a Software Engineer in distributed systems, over the years Nuwan has played engineering leadership, product leadership, and architecture roles in multiple technology organizations. This breadth of experience gives him a grounded perspective on what it takes to deliver technology solutions that create real business impact.
Prior to joining AWS, Nuwan spent close to 12 years in a leadership role at a technology startup, contributing to its growth from pre-seed through Series C stage. This startup journey taught him the importance of customer obsession, rapid iteration, and building solutions that scale.
At AWS, Nuwan brings together his technical expertise and business acumen to help financial institutions adopt cloud-native architectures, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies. He is particularly focused on bridging the gap between innovative technology and traditional finance, helping organizations navigate their transformation with practical, actionable strategies.
